About Us

Somethin’ Sweet Gourmet was founded by a mother and daughter who come to this sweets business from a family tradition of creating delicious delights. Our Mother/Grandmother was a wonderful cook and a gracious hostess. She lovingly baked her pies, cookies, and cakes so that she always had some goodies on hand, not just for Dad’s sweet tooth, but to share with family and friends.

Having enjoyed making candy and snacks together for a number of years, we knew that, likewise, we had a knack for turning out tempting treats. What could be a better joint venture than making “somethin’ sweet” to share with family, friends, and hopefully, with you. We enjoy making gourmet gifts, hand made chocolates, chocolate covered caramel apples, gift baskets and tins, wedding favors, shower favors, corporate gifts, chocolate barks, chocolate covered oreos and ritz, and many other specialties for every occasion.

Linda McColgin

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Linda (Vanek) McColgin of Johnson City, New York, who passed away on May 8, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends.

She is survived by : her daughter Elizabeth; her granddaughter Alexandra; and her sister Maxine Welch (Ray). She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers we ask that you do a random act of kindness in her honor or donate to her favorite charity, Animal Care Council of Endicott, NY.
